Providing new eyeglasses for the impoverished and underprivileged in India.

"You and Eye" was created by two sixteen year old high school sophomores, Anjali Shastri and Ryan Colaco, from The Bay Area.  This project is about helping people by measuring a person’s needed prescription and giving them a new pair of eye glasses. “You and Eye” focuses our efforts on glasses for the underprivileged because not having propper glasses can have a big impact on someone’s life, especially if they are in some form of poverty.

December 23, 2012 marks the launch of the first Eye Camp held in Valpoi, Goa.  Doctors from Mukta Opticians screened 418 people and provided free prescription eye glasses on site with help from youth volunteers from San Francisco and Canada.

Since the first camp, Goa Sudharop has raised over $10,000, and Bay Area families have sponsored 13 more eye camps in different villages.  We are most grateful to our donors, volunteers and partners who have supported these camps. We are also very thankful to Mukta Opticians for their partnership in working with us to bring vision to those who may otherwise have not had access to this treatment.

On December 23, 2012 You and Eye conducted it's first eye clinic with the Goa Sudharop in the rural community of Thane, in Goa India. The program successfully tested, diagnoses and fitted with prescription glasses over 400 needy people of all ages.
