The need for jobs in this pandemic is critical. Women have generally been the hardest hit and bear the brunt of this harsh economic reality. To help Goan women, on April 9, 2021, several Goa Sudharop volunteers organized and hosted a skill and motivational development workshop at Durga Apartments in Margao. 62 women from different age groups participated in the workshop. These women were enthusiastic and in need of guidance to set them on a career path and gain financial independence. They were offered options for training in sewing, baking, driving, coconut-plucking, computers, farming, and nursing. All participants were encouraged to take up skilled based tasks to provide them with means to earn an independent living.
Rocky Wilz who was instrumental in organizing this seminar, created an awareness of the various government training schemes available and the participants were assured of assistance whenever required to avail of these schemes.
Verma D’Mello and Harshita shared their own success stories which boosted the participants confidence, motivating them to aim high and achieve financial independence.
The women appreciated this initiative undertaken by Goa Sudharop and left the workshop confident of forging a new path of upliftment in their lives.
We at Goa Sudharop are committed to change Goan lives for the better.
