Goa Sudharop Led Feminine Hygiene Workshop for Young Women

In the midst of a global public health crisis, it has become more important than ever to practice good personal hygiene. On March 7, 2021, Goa Sudharop hosted a hygiene workshop for young women and girls at the Salvador de Mundo Panchayat Hall. Volunteers handed out sanitary napkins and gave these young women the tools they need to keep themselves physically and mentally healthy.

A major part of the hygiene education centered around reproductive and female health. Many of the young women had never been educated on how to maintain personal hygiene during menstruation. The girls were taught that personal cleanliness, especially during times of menstruation, can prevent reproductive tract infections and other menstruation-related illnesses. Volunteers also taught the women how to properly dispose of female sanitary napkins – to keep not only themselves but others safe as well.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our volunteer team on the ground as well as our donors for making this event such a success. These young women are now equipped with the information and tools they need to practice safe and hygienic behaviors at all times. Interested in supporting events like this?
